"A love for drawing has been present in my life for as long as I can remember. I consider myself lucky to be able to incorporate what I love into what I do for a living. I pull inspiration for my art from both my humor and my heart. Some of my illustrations are observations on life, some are memories, and some are wishful thinking as to how animals might actually behave in the wild. When looking at my work, I hope the viewer sees something that relates to them or touches their heart. At the very least, my goal is to brings a smile to their face."

"Tiffany is a writer, poet, and bereavement doula living in the mountains of North Carolina, on Cherokee ancestral land. She writes what she call poetic narrative, allowing the everyday flow of life to fuse with symbology, ritual, folklore, and deep spiritual reverence in nature. The dreamlike prose that emerges holds yearnings of the spirit and prayers that capture the delicate details of this living, interweaving them into self and our shared collective journey."

"Although I didn’t quite realize it in the beginning, mental health has always been a force in my art. Attempting to express my thoughts and emotions has helped me to quiet the noise in my head.
My work is an exploration of identity. I strive to provide a vehicle for the observer to explore their own mind. I want to bring to the surface thoughts and emotions that otherwise would be ignored, and to highlight our similarities with one another.
My work is intentionally drawn with vague expressions in hopes to challenge the viewer to project themselves into each piece. The bold, sharp lines act as the skeleton or the foundation on which the experience builds. The cohesion of the lines offers a sense of grounding while you let your mind wander."

"I'm mccoy, songwriter, filmmaker & digital artist.
I’ve been in performing arts for 15+ years as a guitarist & vocalist, fronting 4 bands between austin tx & l.a. ca. In recent years I’ve more so taken on the role of audio engineer, producing over 200 tracks since 2016. In the fall of 2018, I started production on the musical documentary, National Parks & Recreation. The goal of this film is to expose the beauty of all 62 national parks, in turn spreading awareness for the sake of preservation.
Completion of this project will be a pioneering effort as no one has yet to document them all in a feature film. Furthermore, it’s completely D.I.Y.; the film, score & editing is entirely in my hands.
By the close of 2019, I've successfully documented 31 of 62 parks with plans to film the remainder in 2020. Following a target release in the spring of 2021, I aim to embark on a nationwide tour, performing a live score of the film in a theater setting.
Aside from song/film, a digital art business for which i’ve dubbed, topo-foto consumes what is left of my creative space. The artform combines vintage maps with photographs I've gathered from relative locations.
In short… a wild soul with passion for untouched creation in the art realm."

"My works are a visual discussion around climate change, our consumer culture and nature. I am particularly interested in plastics as one of the most problematic aspects of consumer culture. Just as plastics become entangled in the environment, these forms mimic human consumption and its relationship to pollution, which spreads over and suffocates the world around us. The works are abstract embodiments of this process. In manipulating debris, I present to the viewer an everyday object in an unexpected form, challenging the viewer to contemplate their own relationship with these materials. And as we collectively drag our feet on the realities of climate change, the work pounders what future generations may read as our successes and our failures."

"I’ve pursued my dreams of being an artist ever since I was little! My biggest inspirations are my parents & my brother, Dannin, who are also artists! Dannin was diagnosed with Autism when he was 3 years old. He is now 21 & continues to be the highlight of our lives! The mission statement of HEART really resonated with me when they said “ we are artists, first and foremost”. ️ I’m very grateful to take part in this meaningful event. There is so much power in appreciating & loving others for what sets them apart. That’s what makes us who we are! One of the reasons I love Troll Dolls so much is for their uniqueness."

Baird Hoffmire
Baird Hoffmire is an animator, illustrator, graphic designer and exhibiting artist. With a BFA in Illustration from Western Carolina University and a BFA in Media Arts and Animation from the Art Institute of Atlanta, Baird has been working as a professional artist for over ten years. His illustrations in Story Cove picture books and animated stories have been enjoyed by tens of thousands of children around the world.
“I've always found stories and storytelling fulfilling. I'm inspired by how social commentary and observations about the world we inhabit can be coded into symbols, both in obvious and subtle ways. My own work is often elements from memory, emotion, and old family photos combined with my influences from comic books, pop culture, and current events. By attempting to balance wit and humor with sensitive subject matter, I hope to weave a narrative that is accessible and evocative to the viewer.”
Besides painting, illustrating books and spending time with his family, Baird loves to play basketball. He resides in Charleston, South Carolina with his beautiful wife, Jane and his equally lovely daughters, Sadie and Harper. He also just happens to be the brother to our beloved HEART Founder, Farrah.

"While exploring the use of acrylic mediums, I breakdown the stigmas that surround disabilities through unity, color, and form. Created in layers, the minnows range in color, size, and shape. A blank, stagnant background is being erased through my paint strokes to show a school of fish thriving together despite their differences. The minnows swim in an upward velocity to represent Down syndrome which has commonly been nicknamed “Up syndrome” for the positive outlook it brings to many lives. While the subject represents inclusion, the overall takeaway is equality. Together, a beautiful school is shown indicating that there is a purpose and place for everyone."

"In my art I utilize century-old traditional techniques like punch needle rug making and sewing in new and creative ways to create functional objects to be used everyday. I strive to spark joy every time one of my creations is worn or used, by combining my modern and bright aesthetic with the warmth and richness these techniques allow. I seek to create heirloom items to be used and cherished for generations. In our culture of consumerism and fast fashion, I hope my work can encourage appreciation for lasting handmade craftsmanship, by exposing community members to both the traditional techniques themselves, and the artists and craftsmen in the community keeping those techniques alive."

“Good art doesn’t match your furniture.”
“Not my quote, but certainly my philosophy! Art is what makes our house our home, from our kindergarteners’ framed construction-paper projects hanging in the laundry room, to a vibrant antique quilt adorning a hallway wall, to a masterly portrait of a pelican that evokes memories of vacation rituals with the kiddos.
Compulsively creative, I began my journey with art at age 10, in an oil painting class at the local rec. I have sewed and painted my way through life, inexplicably driven to always be making something. (Except dinner.) I’ve had formal training abroad, in Florence, Italy, and at the College of Charleston.
I paint what speaks to me. I paint canvas, furniture, murals; anything that will allow me to slather it with color. My style ranges from whimsical illustration to loosely realistic paintings of nature:
animals, land and waterscapes, and florals.
Through painting I’ve learned to face (some of) my fears. I’ve learned to listen to my instincts, and trust myself. I feel compelled to paint, and do so with the hope that it will bring as much joy to the viewer as it does to me in creating it."

"My passion as a painter comes from a life-long desire to create. Growing up in Annapolis, Maryland, I was always out on the water, sailing or boating, all the while collecting shapes and colors to put in my pocket and bring home. I began painting in high school and continued to pursue art further down the coast at the College of Charleston. In 2013, I studied abroad in Florence, Italy at SACI, where I spent the semester focusing on finding my style. One of my professors, Lorenzo, expressed, “you do your best work when you just play.” This was really encouraging to me. Upon graduation, I was playing by painting in my off hours and trying to establish myself as an artist. In 2014, I officially started Blakely Made!
Currently, I live in downtown Charleston with my husband, Curtis, and my golden retriever, Posie. When I’m not in the studio, we are often found enjoying Hampton Park or out on the boat exploring the marsh. Inspired by the local waters and my travels, I love to behold my surroundings and then depict them in my own way on a canvas. I am always mesmerized with the way my paintings can speak to others without using words. Some paint on a canvas creates a shared experience between you, the viewer, and me, the artist. This connection brings me such joy and compels me to paint the way I see the world: full of color in unlikely places."

"I use objects which often includes toy figures or small statues and patterned fabric to create a still life that resembles a landscape. Suzy Lindow
Currently lives and works in Williamsburg, VA
Suzy Lindow is a self-taught painter and collage artist with a penchant for quirk and color. Originally from the Midwest, she studied Psychology at NYU before living in and exploring the American Southwest for the decade following. She's since settled down with her husband and three children in Coastal Virginia, where she spends her non-studio time secretly recording her neighbors doing shirtless lawn care and periodically torturing her 18-year-old Persian cat with mini party hats. She likes to create bold, lively pieces that infuse personality into a space, and her main influences include colorful vintage textiles, tribal artifacts, and folkart. Handmade objects and old things have always held wonder even from a very early age where she spent countless days being dragged along to estate sales and into dusty antique stores by her mother. These aged and bespoke notes of inspiration continue to play a central role in her work as she explores themes such as the relationship one has with one’s own perceived flaws and their unique physicality within greater societal beauty constructs. The offbeat color combinations and playful marks that define her whimsical portraits have caught the eye of collectors from both within the United States and around the world.
Suzy is currently represented by Anne Irwin Fine Art (Atlanta, GA), Miller Gallery (Charleston, SC) and Florida Mining Gallery (Jacksonville, FL)

Midge Peery
Charleston resident and artist Margaret (Midge) Peery initially planned a career focused on objective numerals and factual data rather than such subjective elements as color and atmosphere.
Peery was born in 1941 and grew up in Jackson, North Carolina. She moved to Charleston where she attended Ashley Hall. She attended from Hollins College and earned her master of arts in mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She worked as an actuary then began watercolor painting in 1981. Peery is largely self-taught and has studied with several artists including workshops with West Fraser.
Using her mathematical skills, Peery constructs a detailed grid before drawing the landscape. She then layers watercolor washes on top of the drawing. In her latest works, Peery explored the atypical and less picturesque urban landscapes of Charleston and documents the rapidly developing and changing city. She is now working on a series of Greenville, South Carolina cityscapes.
Her work is included in the collections of the Greenville County Museum of Art and the Gibbes Museum of Art.

Kate Ritchie is a mixed media artist who is constantly exploring new ways to create. For her collages and abstract paintings, she usually starts with a predetermined color palette but the rest of the composition organically forms along the way. Ritchie views creating art as a form of meditation and will often work on several pieces at once until each artwork comes together. She likes to think about the abstract forms in her paintings as existing in a 3 dimensional space and will often incorporate shadows, highlights, and layering shapes to convey this idea. Ritchie draws inspiration from nature and sacred geometry which is rendered through her use of vibrant color, pattern, and texture.

Katherine Dunlap
"Katherine Dunlap is sensitive to the ways in which our natural environment shapes first-person experience. She is not only interested in the physical and aesthetic details of our surroundings, but our emotional response to their presence. Whether it be an idealized memory associated with a specific location or an instinctive reaction to a natural space, her work seeks to marry the physical and emotional forms of her environment.
Katherine Dunlap was born 1990 in Gainesville, Georgia. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting and Drawing from the University of Georgia in 2013 and currently has a home studio in Charleston, S.C."
