Theatre & Writing Showcase
HEART has been working each week with College of Charleston students since January to bring you this creative, collaborative showcase!
Join us on HEART's YouTube Channel on Sunday, April 11th at 3:00pm to watch the premeire!
Jessica Shamble and Emily Pasche, two Theatre for Youth majors, helped us bring a storybook to life in a virtual rendition of Cat in the Hat. Along with a number of fun theatre exercises, they wrote an abbreviated script specifically for HEART. To top it off, they choreographed a dance to get us on our feet and bring it all together!
Professor Heather Hall leads a class of Special Education majors in the Department of Teacher Education who planned creative writing activities for us each week. Students and HEARTists paired up to write together and chose their favorite piece to recite for the showcase. Another player in this collaboration is Jonathan Sanchez, owner of Blue Bicycle Books and creative writing extraordinaire, who donated creative writing books to aid in activity planning and lent helpful advice through Zoom meet ups.
We are so grateful for the support of our creative community and are excited for you to see what we have been working on in 2021!
