This installation is a collaborative work by all of the artists of HEART Inclusive Arts Community.  When brainstorming about the unknown, the ocean was an immediate topic.  How great is it to know so little about something so vast?!  We wanted to create an experience for visitors to get a glimpse into an artistic take on being underwater amongst the coral reef.  We hope that visitors will be curious and enjoy a little underwater peace.  What do you recognize?  Have you seen any of these pieces in real life?  Take a moment to wonder and let the mind wander.  What else could be deep in the sea?  Does it make you uncomfortable?  Do we need to know everything underneath the surface?  Is it comforting to just imagine?  How does the ocean make you feel?

We invite visitors to respectfully touch the work in order to gain more information.  Please be gentle and do not pick anything up.

A large tunnel filled with an underwater scene.  Light, airy fabrics drape the top and sides in shades of blue and white.  Coral reef scenes run along each side and protrude about 2.5 feet.  Large, brown structures hold the bulk of the detail and come alive with many types of colorful coral and various sea life including fish, seahorses, an octopus and sea urchins.  Long leafy green structures dabble throughout.  Larger fish and a turtle hang from the upper bars.  Small mirrors and plastic spheres hang and drape from above creating bubbles and flecks of light.
