Who are you?  Who am I?  How much do we know about each other?  What are ways in which we present ourselves?  We spend our whole lives getting to know our truest selves, which means that there is so much to learn from every human.  

These low-relief cardboard sculptures are inspired by Picasso and Cubism, using various shapes, sizes and patterns to create faces.  Masks. 

Five colorful, low-relief, Cubism-styled masks

1:  A square with wavy outline and a black square hat on the top left corner.  The face is sectioned into different bright colors.  Each facial feature is unique and differently styled in bright colors.

2:  A brown gingerbread man shaped character with a swoopy yellow hair design.  Colorfully filled circles line the body out through the arms and legs.

3:  A turquoise oval with decorated rectangles for each facial feature.  The face is dotted with colorful spots and wearing a small yellow and red top hat.

4:  An orange pentagon with a square top and sharp bottom angle.  Ear shapes protrude from both sides.  The whole surface is dotted with intricate colorful dots and smooth, swoopy lines.  The features are abstracted.

5:  A dark, round, organic shape that narrows towards the top filled with fine swirls of many colors.  The facial features are abstracted.

Six colorful, low-relief, Cubism-styled masks

1:  A yellow, oblong hexagon atop a square.  The facial features are large and bright red and orange.  Smudges of orange and gray carry throughout.  An orange isosceles triangle protrudes out of the top.

2:  A long green rectangle reminiscent of Frankenstein.  Features are brown, black and yellow.  Short lines repeat across the top.

3:  A thin, upside-down turquoise triangle.  A brown rectangle sits at the top and the facial features are geometric shapes in primary colors.

4:  An elongated, curvy brown oval.  Horizontal strokes of pink, orange, purple, green and white are blended in. A black hat with a brim and gray square sit on the upper left edge.

5:  A teal organic shape with mint green and blue outlined features.  A crown-like shape sits slanted atop the shape.

6:  A long, rounded, upright rectangle.  A pattern of colorful, small dots cover the surface along with swirls of yellow.  A black cross hatched rectangle sits atop the oval.

Five colorful, low-relief, Cubism-styled masks

1:  A horizontally stretched peach oval.  Small, thick swirls in a multitude of colors cover the majority of the shape.  Two large blue eyes are above a set of full, red lips.  Painted CDs protrude from either side as jewelry.

2:  An orange, thin, vertical oval.  Facial features are fairly even and detailed with dense, small, colorful dots.  Small shapes protrude from either side as ears.

3:  A round top with a sharp bottom.  It is smoothly sectioned into different colors:  orange, lime, green, yellow, light brown, pink, purple and white.  A crown shape rests slightly slanted on the top.

4:  A bean-like shape filled with blues and greens.  Facial features are medium-sized.  A small brown hat with a brim rests on the top.  The whole surface is covered inlayers of colorful, circular lined shapes.

5:  A long, thin white oval with a red top hat slanted to the side.  The facial features are small and different shapes in red and blue.  Brushes of yellow blend into the middle and bottom.

Six colorful, low-relief, Cubism-styled masks

1:  A large, white square with large, round, red eyes with yellow detail.  Simple, yellow squiggles travel down the square below each eye.  A white and black hat sits slanted on the right with text that reads “SOX”.  The nose, mouth and ear are black, geometric shapes.

2:  A white rectangle bottom with a rounded top.  Features are large and bright in geometric shapes.  Thick brown rectangles rest above each eye.  Dotted lines and small, blue circles fill the space around the features.

3:  A white circle with a black top hat.  The features are abstract  in green, orange, blue and purple and occupy the majority of the circle.

4:  A rocket-like shape with blended abstract features.  Four small ovals extend off the bottom.  The left side is light blue and the right is gray, blending in the middle.

5:  A vertically stretched, upside-down trapezoid.  It is divided into three sections in orange, yellow and turquoise.  The features are all unique in typical areas.  Thick “C”-shapes protrude from either side as ears.

6:  A golden yellow oval below a tall, red rectangle with a golden yellow half circle protruding from the left.  The whole surface is covered in intricate small dots and lines in white, green, yellow and pink.  The features are disguised amongst the patterns.
