Image Description:
Blocks of colorful reclaimed fabric and textiles form the diagonal stripes of the Disability Pride flag quilted to a solid black backing fabric. Each block was painted onto by HEARTists and quilted together by Mimi Wood, a local artist and volunteer at the HEART Studio. The colors of the Disability Pride flag represent different communities of Disabilities. From top to bottom: Black for those Disabled people who have lost their lives, Green for Sensory Disabilities, Blue for Mental Health Disabilities, White for Invisible and Undiagnosed Disabilities, Yellow Gold for Cognitive and Intellectual Disabilities, Red for Physical Disabilities and finishing with black again.
